This PhD-project involves research on the (psychosocial) work environment as risk factor for cardiovasc. dis. To properly address research questions in the field of occupational epidemiology, innovative research on study methodology and confounding factors will be an important factor in this project

Requirements

University Graduate
•A university education in epidemiology or health sciences with experience in epidemiologic research, preferably in the field of occupational epidemiology.
•Analytical ability and drive to develop and apply the necessary methods.

Additional information about the job:
The project will make use of data from an extension of the established and ongoing Maastricht Cohort Study, among 12140 workers. The study aims at a better understanding of the relation between work and heart disease, but will also deal with the role of study methodology on study outcome in observational occupational epidemiology.

Other requirements are:
•Interest in the methodological aspects of epidemiological research
•Motivated and enthusiastic
•Good writing and communication skills in English, preferably also in Dutch

CAPRHI is a part of the KNAW acknowledged research schools of Care CaRe (Netherlands School of Primary Care Research) and WTMC (Science, Technology and Modern Culture).

Conditions of employment

Maximum salary amount in Euro's a month 2558
Employment basis: Temporary for specified period
Duration of the contract: 48 months
Maximum hours per week: 38

Additional conditions of employment:
We offer a full-time PhD-position for 4 years, contingent on a satisfactory performance. Monthly salary starts at € 2,000.- and is expected to increase to € 2,558.-.
