Applications
are invited for a full-time PhD research studentship in the School of the Built and Natural Environment at Glasgow Caledonian University. The studentship is for a period of three years, subject to satisfactory progress, and provides payment of tuition fees at the UK/EU rate plus a £13,500 per annum (normally tax free) contribution to living expenses.

The overall aim of this studentship will be to conduct research in the area of sustainable construction. The strategic, organisational and technology management issues associated with sustainability will be thoroughly explored in order to develop a systematic approach to promote sustainability in construction. The successful candidate will also be expected to undertake 6 hours of academic activity a week in life skills training.

Requirements:
Applicants should have a Bachelors degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Architecture, Construction/ Project Management or related discipline with at least a 2nd class upper Honours degree or equivalent. A Masters degree in Construction/ Project Management or related field is desirable. They should demonstrate some experience or knowledge of both quantitative and qualitative research approaches and an ability to learn new skills.
